the last butterfly, haiku by James Kirkup

the last butterfly, haiku by James Kirkup

James Kirkup had a long and prolific career in literature far beyond the shores of haiku. He was a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, and a widely known translator, writer and teacher as well as a talented and controversial poet. He was the first President of the British Haiku Society, and longtime advisor to the Japanese journal . This postscript volume offers 19 of his most significant haiku in English, a genre he was not convince worked, but to which he gave much of his time and energy.
